SOLAR WATER PUMPING
Specially designed solar pumps have a lower starting surge and reduce the electric load
required.  AC and DC systems are available with complete design and installation in
southeast Colorado.

SOLAR ELECTRICITY (PHOTOVOLTAICS)
Explore the possibilities of off-grid or grid-tied solar electricity.  Residential or commercial,
rural or urban, using the sun for your primary source of electricity gives you your own piece of
homeland security.  You can insulate yourself from power outage and rising utility rate.
Currently the Investment Tax Credits for businesses choosing solar are tremendous.

SOLAR THERMAL
Using the sun as a source of heat is a "no-brainer"  in Colorado.  The amount of heat  energy
that can be stored in water and used for heating, domestic hot water, or commercial
applications offers a very short payback period.  As oil prices continue to climb, this payback
period gets even shorter.  Any business that uses large amounts of hot water such as
laundromats, car washes, restaurants, motels, hotels, prisons, etc. will benefit from solar.
Residential solar thermal systems are simple to install in new construction.  Retrofits for older
buildings are also possible.

The building size may determine the best system to use.
  • In smaller applications, solar heated air may be the most economical system, it is
    small and simple.
  • New construction of medium homes and small offices lends itself well to solar
collectors feeding a water heater which feeds a new radiant heating system.
  • Existing homes can be retrofit with solar collectors feeding a water storage heater and
then preheats the air in a conventional furnace.   Every attempt should be made for
energy conservation and efficiency first in an older home.
  • Large buildings, new or old, can best be heated and cooled with a ground source heat
pump (geothermal) system.  This significanty reduces the PV load of the building
compared to sizing the PV to serve a conventional heater and air conditioner.
